HAS 2022

Ride and Drives | Year-Round

We had such a successful year full of Ride and Drive events, completing over 300 EV test drives.

In 2022, Evolve hosted electric ride & drive events at Shell, Octopus Energy, CenterPoint Energy, NRG Energy, NRG Park, Houston Community College, and more!

Houstonians had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle, discover the benefits of driving electric, and learn how easy, efficient, and affordable it is. For more information on Ride and Drives click here!

eYouth Education Program (eYEP) | Year-Round

Evolve had the opportunity to visit West Side High School, South Houston High School, Pasadena, and Sam Rayburn High School.

Our team provided the students with a short presentation on what electric mobility is and how it offers solutions to reduce emissions within the transportation sector, followed by a ride-along in an all-electric car!

We provide students and Houston's youth an opportunity to learn more about the benefits of going electric through the eYouth Education Program (eYEP). Learn more about Evolve's eYouth Education Program click here!

Fleet Studies | Year-Round

During 2022, Evolve Houston completed its Fleet Electrification Pilot Program, assessing nearly 15,000 public and private fleet vehicles within the Houston region and identifying lifetime economic savings of $27.8MM and annual CO2 emissions reductions of 17,350+ metric tons. This pilot program has helped Evolve Houston better understand how some of Houston's largest public and private organizations operate their fleets in order to assist with electrification efforts. Evolve Houston also strengthened its relationships with leaders across various EV industries in order to connect those interested in electrifying their fleets with those who strive to make fleet electrification a reality.

YouTube Series | April & September 2022

To celebrate Earth Week, Evolve released the "Mean EV Comments" YouTube series. Our team responded to real "mean comments" found on the internet related to EV safety and practicality, the impact of manufacturing EVs, pricing & affordability, and charging & infrastructure.

In September during National Drive Electric Week #NDEW2022, our team released another YouTube series filled with fun and games, known as the "Evolve Plug-in Games". We gathered a group of Houston's students to test their EV knowledge with various charged-up questions. You can test your knowledge by playing along while watching one of our videos on Evolve's YouTube channel.

Relaunch Event | August 2022

Evolve Houston had a great time celebrating its relaunch and introducing its new President & Executive Director, Casey Brown. We brought together organizations to announce exciting new eMobility initiatives across and share the current state of EV adoption within Houston and across Texas.

eMobility Microgrant Initiative | September 2022

Evolve Houston launched the eMobility Microgrant initiative in September.

Applications across the Greater Houston area were accepted, which focused on increasing access to and awareness of electric mobility and electric vehicle infrastructure, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, and boosting workforce development opportunities around transportation electrification.

Evolve recruited Community Champions to help review and select the recipients for the eMobility Microgrant.

Award Recipients will be publicly announced later this year. Stay tuned!

We're excited for the new year and all the exciting events, announcements, and fun we have planned for you.
