Applications are open now through October 15.

HOUSTON (September 15, 2025) — Evolve Houston is proud to announce the launch of Round 4 of Evolve’s Grants Program, inviting grassroots organizations, nonprofits, community collectives, and local leaders to apply for one-time grants of up to $15,000 that accelerate access to clean transportation in historically underserved communities.

Organizations, individuals, clubs, and collectives are encouraged to apply now through Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at evolvehouston.org/grants.

“Evolve’s eMobility Grants are a powerful way to channel community-driven innovation into lasting impact,” said Grace Millsap, Director of Marketing & Community Engagement at Evolve Houston. “We’re calling on local leaders and organizations to apply today and join the movement toward cleaner, healthier, and more equitable neighborhoods.”

What the grants support

Funding priorities include (but aren’t limited to): EV charging access, community EV education, EV-based services that reduce emissions (e.g., deliveries, shuttles), and workforce development tied to the clean transportation economy. Awards focus on near-term impact and community benefit.

Building on the Momentum of Round 3

Earlier this year, Evolve Houston awarded grants to 22 community-based projects through Round 3, fueling an inspiring range of local solutions. From clean energy workforce training and EV infrastructure installations to youth EV education initiatives and sustainable food delivery, grantees are helping transform how Houstonians move, work, and connect.

“Growing up in Sunnyside, I saw firsthand how access can shape opportunities. Thanks to Evolve Houston and its funders, this grant helps bridge the gap between clean transportation solutions and communities too often left out of the conversation,” said Obiageli Onuba of Mina II Society Consulting.
Others are using their funding to open new career pathways. “ChargeIT Mobile Technology Training is more than a course—it's a movement bringing hands-on technology and energy training directly to our communities. Thanks to the Evolve Grant, we're able to prepare individuals for real careers in clean energy, networking, and basic cybersecurity,” said Rain Davis, CEO of h.u.e. technology.
And for some, the focus is on inspiring the next generation. “Thanks to the generous support of Evolve’s funders, we’re able to ignite curiosity, build real-world skills, and expand access to emerging industries like electric vehicles for youth who have historically been left out of innovation,” said Marvin Pierre, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Eight Million Stories.

About Evolve’s Grants Program & How to Apply

Launched in 2022, Evolve's eMobility Grants Program provides one-time grants of up to $15,000 to support clean transportation solutions in historically underserved communities. To date, it has funded over 50 community-led projects that advance EV adoption, expand charging access, deliver EV-based services, and create green workforce opportunities across the Greater Houston area.

Evolve Houston is a nonprofit membership organization that brings together business, government, and community stakeholders to accelerate the transition to electric transportation. As a neutral convener and trusted voice within the EV ecosystem, Evolve drives collaboration, research, and on-the-ground initiatives that improve community outcomes.

Evolve drives impact through the support of its Founding Members—Shell, CenterPoint Energy, University of Houston, and the City of Houston—and its Corporate Catalysts, General Motors and bp America, who provide initiative-specific funding for the program. All projects are sourced from the community through open applications and selected by the community via Evolve’s Community Champion peer review panel.
